My Approach

As a therapist, my role is to witness and be with you in your experiences, to support and understand you and your emotions, and to remind you of your capabilities and resilience in a nonjudgmental, empowering space. I strive to prioritize and honor clients' autonomy, safety, and well-being at every step, and I take a collaborative approach to treatment and sessions. My hope is that therapy will enable you to be with and build compassion toward your humanity, encourage you to be exactly who you are, and pursue what you need and  value - both inside and outside of sessions.

I work from the understanding that people are not their problems, and I regard my clients as human beings who are separate from their symptoms or struggles. Additionally, I tie social-justice and trauma-informed perspectives into my work, as it is essential to identify and acknowledge the ways in which societal and systemic factors, injustices, and stressors impact and influence our human experience and well-being.

I believe that styles of therapy are not "one size fits all." There are many effective therapies, and different techniques and strategies work for different people and concerns. I pull from and integrate the following therapy types so I can tailor my approach for each client's specific needs and goals:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy

  • Emotionally Focused Therapy

  • Existential Therapy

  • Internal Family Systems

  •

    Interpersonal Therapy

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

  • Somatic Therapy

Together, we will determine a path of healing that makes the most sense for you.
